The Land Lease Agreement is the first step in the development process. It defines the partnership between Emergent and your business.
Here’s How it Works:
If you decide to host a renewable energy project, we can then prepare for building the project. Based on our desire for community-based projects, our agreement will dissolve if Emergent cannot deliver a project that empowers your community through local investment, economic development, and an open/transparent design process.
The basic agreement gives us the option to build a project in specific locations on this land, and this option remains valid for designated period of time. Once construction is complete, Emergent will cover any changes in property taxes and will additionally make annual payments to the landowner to maintain the agreement.
